Certified Nurse Aides who have demonstrated competence and leadership in their role as a CNA can take the next step on the Nursing Career Ladder. 

A QMA is a Nurse Aide who has satisfactorily completed a state-approved program and demonstrates competency while dispensing and passing medications and/or applying/administering treatments under the direct supervision of a registered nurse or a licensed practical nurse. 

QMA’s can pass oral medications, eye drops, ear drops, and test for blood sugar via a finger stick and more.
